Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Relist Hamptons Mansion for Million—Just 3 Months After Insisting They ‘Never Want To Leave’ the Home

Alec And Hilaria Baldwin has put his sprawling Hamptons mansion back on the market for a fourth time, just months after expressing his desire to own the home, admitting his children are “crazy” at the idea of parting with the property.

The couple, who also own an apartment in New York City, listed the five-bedroom Amagansett, N.Y., home on Dec. 3 with an asking price of $21 million, a huge increase from the last asking price of $18.99 but a steep drop from the $29 million it was first listed for in 2022.

Their decision to list the home marks the latest twist in what has been a rollercoaster real estate ride for the property, which Alec, 67, bought in 1995 for just $1.75 million.

In 2021, Alec and Hilaria, 41, revealed plans to renovate the beachfront property, where they have long spent summers and vacations with growing children.

However, they pulled those plans in September 2022 when they listed the house for $29 million — just four months later to drop the price to just $24.9 million.

Over the next two years, the property bounced on and off the market, last listing for a much lower price in January 2024, shortly before they actually accepted an offer on the property.

In August, the couple opened the doors to the property in a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, telling the outlet that they initially listed the house because they felt they no longer needed it, explaining that they had visions of splitting their time between the New York property and a 55-acre estate in Vermont, while spending summers in Europe.

But, he admitted, he found it almost impossible to “leave” the house, especially because it had become a place that his children loved so much.

“We keep coming back here because the kids are so happy,” Alec said. “They love it here. When I go to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?’ , they go crazy.

“This is the home of a child I never want to leave.”

Now, just three months later, the couple has appeared again listing the 8.28-acre estate Scott Bradleyof Sanders and Associates.

Yet they may face another rocky ride on their way to finding a buyer, with experts previously telling Realtor.com that the listing, described as an “unparalleled vision of beautiful property living,” has a number of “challenges.”

First, according to Jenny Lenzmanaging director of Dolly Lanes Real Estate, has the location, which he says “wasn’t considered prime for most buyers.”

“While Amagansett is modern and beautiful, this property is north of the highway and off the beaten path, yet it’s priced like it’s on a prime street in East Hampton or Southampton,” Lenz explained in July 2024.

The real estate agent—who was familiar with the Baldwin property—observed that the house itself would be viewed by many buyers as a fixer-upper because it needed numerous updates.

“The house is quite dated for the current market,” he said. “Buyers in this area are looking for more modern styles and either new construction or recently renovated homes.”

Finally, there was the “ick” factor that Lenz said came from the house’s association with a celebrity couple as polarizing as Alec and Hillia. The former of which was also featured in a promotional video in January 2024 in which he tried to personally woo a buyer for the residence.

The home’s first appearance on the market in 2022 comes just months after Alec was involved in a fatal October 2021 shooting on the set of his film “Rust” involving a cinematographer. Helena Hutchins Killed after being fired by a live round from a gun which the actor was using as a prop.

Alec was initially charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023, along with Armorer. Hannah Gutierrez ReedAccording to Lenz, and while prosecutors eventually dropped all charges against him, the actor and his family’s notoriety surrounded him.

“The celebrity connection is a turnoff for most buyers in this case,” Lenz said in July 2024. Typically, a property associated with an A-list star commands a premium. [him] 8 Speaks of the day about living [his] Communication and active participation in home marketing is perhaps a disadvantage and clients have suggested that there is an ‘ick’ factor.

Hilaria has also received her fair share of negative publicity in recent months after she was revealed as one of several celebrities who competed on the latest season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Despite consistently receiving high scores from the judges, the mother-of-seven was the fourth contestant, and later said during an Instagram Live that she had been “kicked off the show.”

He later clarified his comments during a podcast appearance, telling the host “a lot.” Emma Paige Klipstein that he felt some viewers had participated in a targeted campaign to remove him from the show.

“They’re going to vote for every couple except me, or X person,” he claimed.

He added, “And I don’t care. I’m going to be the one crying in front of the world because I’m going to show my humanity. Some people are like that and some people will make fun of me more for it.”

It remains to be seen if the fourth time will be the charm for the couple when it comes to selling their Hamptons home, which they plan to renovate. The listing states that the residence is complete with “expansion architectural plans.”

The expansion, the description notes, will see the home add two additional bedrooms as well as a “formal dining room, sunroom, and large screened-in porch.”

“Additionally, SCHD has approved upgraded septic for 10 bedrooms,” it continues. “Also, the opportunity to build a new, equally impressive guesthouse in Amagansett is unheard of in the Hamptons.”

The listing doesn’t indicate whether the property has undergone any recent updates, describing it as a prime example of “luxury living,” with outdoor amenities that shine as the true star of the listing.

“This stunning property offers endless reserve views, horseback riding, a vegetable garden, all modern luxury amenities, and is adjacent to Balsam Farm and the wonderful Amagansett trail system,” it said.

“Nature and equestrian adventures, plus private access to world-famous beaches and village life, make this the ultimate dream home for relaxing and rejuvenating in the Hamptons for generations.”
