HGTV star Christina Hack The network’s programming purge has teased a “major” new project following their hit show “Christina on the Coast.”
The 42-year-old “Flip Off” star—who has a renovation competition series with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heatherfor , for , for , . was Renewed for another season – took to Instagram to share the “exclusive” news with her fans.
In a cheeky video posted on the official Instagram account for her design company, Christina & Kylie, the mother-of-three revealed that she and her business partner, Kylie Winghave been busy working on “something special” that they plan to unveil soon.
In the clip, Heck and Wing can be seen standing in different areas of the house under construction, while words flash on the screen teasing fans about their “big” project.
The home appears to be in the midst of a major renovation, with unfinished floors and cabinets visible behind the two women as they move from room to room.
“Something big is coming, stay tuned,” the video caption reads.
The caption added, “We’re working on something special, and now’s the time to let you in on it.
Fans flooded the comments section and requested the plan to become a “new show”.
“Please be a new show!” One wrote, as another said: “I’m praying this is the show I need Christina back on my screen!”
While Heck isn’t completely gone from HGTV screens, continuing to work on “The Flip Off,” which premiered in January, there’s no word yet on whether or not he’ll have any solo projects on the network.
Over the summer, it was revealed that her show “Christina on the Coast,” as well as her ex-husband’s series, “Flipping El Moussa,” had not been renewed — falling victim to a programming purge that saw multiple shows axed for good measure.
According to Us Weekly, insiders claimed that Hack’s series, which ran for five seasons, the last of which ended in March of this year, “has not been renewed.”
Hack then appeared to poke fun at the cancellation in a light-hearted social media post that showed he wasn’t fazed by news of his series pivot.
She addressed the news in a carefree Instagram post that showed her hanging out with her kids, friends and boyfriend, Christopher LaRocca.
“Summer so far. Basically just eating and laughing. Cancel sounds good to me…” she said in the caption.
“Just kidding just kidding,” Hack teased, along with a red heart and a silly face emoji.
However, while heck was upbeat even in the face of the disappointing news, fans were quick to take to the comments section to voice their dismay at the show’s cancellation.
“I loved ‘Christina on the Beach’!!! HGTV made a bad decision!!” One person said.
Another social media user wrote, “I’m so upset at this network they canceled all my favorite shows!!! I really hope to see you all very soon!!!”
“The Flip Off” has officially been renewed, and filming has begun.
After its premiere in January, the series became HGTV’s highest-rated debut show among adult viewers since 2022. Fans were apparently captivated by the drama that unfolded on screen in the wake of Hack’s divorce from her third husband,Josh Hall.
Initially, the show was intended to feature Huck and Hal going head-to-head in a renovation battle against Tarek and Heather, with the first episode featuring several clips filmed with all four stars.
However, when Heck and Hall split in summer 2024, just as filming was underway, she was immediately axed from the show. Hack was left to go it alone in the house-breaking competition.
